Binah

Elisa from Style Like U asked me to a. choose a piece that I thought was classic (I was about to choose crop top or hot shorts, but I contained myself) and b.style that item in a different context. I wanted to choose something that I don't normally wear and that I would have a hard time styling. The flannel shirt (which is my friend April's) is a sort of anti-fashion symbol which is a sort of mirror to my sentiments about fashion and style. I've been moving away from my all black ways and into a more accurate (trailer) trashy style. Grimy, dirty and mAgIcAL

disce mori

threads 2-1I'm finally getting around to posting the photoshoot that I collaborated with THREADS magazine and my friend/photographer Khrystyna Chekhlata. The editors asked me to contribute something, so I gathered up all of my pagan things and went to a deserted Jewish cemetary in Queens. The shoot was sort my way of expressing my leaning toward a more disheveled, less put together, less 'clean', less 'fashion' look. The shoot itself is entitled 'conjunction', a step in alchemy where the soul and body are conjoined, and it deals with fusion of opposites, death, rebirth, becoming one, etc. I don't want to dive too much into it- it's beter left to be analyzed on your own accord.. The Glenda the good witch outfit (white look) is this dress I found at Beacon's ( I don't really ever wear it unless its for a shoot), coyote pelt, and a necklace with weave, pearls, antler, string, and a freeze dried mouse that I compiled at the cemetary right before, and the wicked witch (black) look is a mongolian lamb fur pelt, Gareth Pugh fringe cardigan, and black 1to3 leggings with the DIY necklace... and a hair net worn as a mask.. I've also included a couple of the contact sheets that didn't make the magazine, but are still really beautiful. Khrystyna is fucking amazing..36676_400333046510_507936510_4786143_4741761_n36676_400333056510_507936510_4786145_2742651_n36676_400333051510_507936510_4786144_2781322_n36676_400333741510_507936510_4786185_6067743_nPicture 16Picture 55 ( was shown a really funny site called god hates goths))36676_400333746510_507936510_4786186_3610955_n36676_400333761510_507936510_4786187_1443615_nPicture 9Picture 31elizabeth_contact1004elizabeth_contact010

4 DAT good.

Alright SO I kind of quit my blog, in case you were wondering. i've been a bit busy, and to be honest everyone has really been ruining fashion for me. You know when you like something so much and then everyone else figures it out and really fucks it up and doesn't make it special anymore? Reading fashion blogs has become more and more looking at tragedies with a credit card... I really don't want to be associated with 'fashion blogging' It's become a bit of a dark comedy. I'm trying to work things out though.. ANYWAY. Happy that Leopard Milkshake snapped me outside of Balthazaar in my summer look. Holes by me (shirts) and Mark Fast (hot shorts), and Creepers with thigh highs and grey hairrr. Trying to look more and more like a rag-a-muffin, really. I just recently started wearing my Miu Miu status symbol again to balance things out. Speaking of $tatus symbols the other half of my summer look is Nuvo. I think my summer look is really just about not taking fashion or myself too seriously... Photo 110 Also, you should come to Home Sweet Home tonight in LES, I'm hosting- BOTTLE $ERVICE at 12....

Ra

Sorry, for the lack of posts- I think I should start making it my opening statement on all posts. I've been moving into a new apartment, and going through a sort of quarter life crisis.
Super flattered to be chosen to contribute to the Uniform Project- if you don't know about it you should click away. It's a super good cause, where in an effort to raise money for the benefit of children in India living in slums- Sheena wore the same black dress for a year styled in different ways. I couldn't even imagine wearing the same dress everyday- I guess it would make for an easy early morning wardrobe choice- so I am really impressed that she went through with it. She's selling the dress and asked a few people to style it in their own way.

Worn with Gareth Pugh cardigan, Raphael Young shoes, and this necklace that my friend Jamie made for me and blue lipstick

Seizuring for Twentyten

Glad I could be a part of the twentytens monumental third collection. Seizing my way through the kinetic soft looks- a good progression from last season's sharpness. However, it's still as tough as the nails of seasons past.

are leaves and twigs and branches of a connected whole.IMG_2158IMG_2160IMG_2172IMG_2173IMG_2179 Atalanta Weller for House of Holland wedges- I eventually caved, thats a common shoe theme for me it seems like. They're a perfect wedge shape and the python detailing makes them a step up from any old regular wedge mary-jane. Also, a headdress I've been not-so diligently working on. - Leda and the Swan

For behold the kingdom of heaven is within you

On the verge of leaving the darkness. Found this forgotten dress in my closet the other day, funny- I wore this dress to a 20's costume party about a year ago and got shot for a street style blog- I told them my favorite store was Seven and one of the comments was something around the lines of ' too costumey, hideous, you give Seven a bad name' Thats one of the only negative comments that has stuck. Plastic Surgery Part II

Did a tiny shoot with friends the other week- and I couldn't move past plastic surgery make up. I love making morbid things look so cheery. IMG_2153

Rated PG

IMG_2136IMG_2147IMG_2137IMG_2148IMG_2138IMG_2149Coyote Pelt from Glacier Wear ( the most AMAZING site that I have ever been to, you can purchase ENTIRE wolf pelts, lynx, bobcat and you can even choose the size of your animal or if you want paws and claws attached- reasonable prices too- I'm wearing the Montana Coyote), twentyten nail skirt harness, and Rapheal Young futuristic frankenstein shoes (my newest child). Remotely reminds me of the Barbarella costumes-futuristic yet hints of the past. And since when is celestial sex rated PG?

Somewhat obsessed with the headwear of the middle ages not only in its rigidity and restraint but in it's pure fantastical nature. I've also been somewhat researching the pony subculture and the restraint as well as submissiveness of the gags and masks echoes the up tightness of the head dresses of the middle ages. Weird combo, maybe it's just that the Middle Ages has the best clothing... from Auguste Racinet Picture 28, pony girl. Grandesdames.JPG
